William "Junior" Shoemaker Obituary

William “Junior” Shoemaker, age 81, passed away on July 26, 2026.

He was a dedicated boilermaker by trade who believed in the value of hard work. When he wasn't working, he could often be found hunting, fishing along the river, or relaxing at home watching classic westerns and wrestling.

Above all else, Junior's greatest joy was his family. He cherished every opportunity to gather with those he loved, and no family get-together was complete without his chicken and dumplings. He will be remembered for his generous heart, his love for the outdoors, and the many special memories he created with his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Harvison Shoemaker; parents, Doris Marie Holliman and William Hubert Shoemaker Sr.; siblings, Nelda “Nell” Shoemaker Baria, Almaria Shoemaker, Billy Ray Shoemaker, David Shoemaker, Annette Weaver, and Robert Earl Shoemaker; granddaughter, Shaina Howard; great granddaughter, Makenna Vess.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Thomas (Machelle) Shoemaker, Sheila (Steve) Havard, Charlene (Juan) Figueroa, Richard (Shana) Shoemaker, and Kristy (Joe) Baxter; grandchildren, Brandon Shoemaker, Brian Shoemaker, Dexter Dement, Payton Cooper, Joshua Draper, Anna Howard, Selena Gonzalez, Hunter Shoemaker, Emily Shoemaker, Madison Shoemaker, Tye (Helen) Baxter, Makayla (Tristen) Vess, Katelyn (Kevin) Baxter, and Kyler Baxter; siblings, Deloris “Lois”  (Randy) McDuffie, sister-in-law, Carolyn Wright; numerous great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

The Visitation will be Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Moments Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 30, 2026 beginning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Heath Havard officiating.
