William Dirkin Helton

William Dirkin Helton, age 54, passed away June 28, 2024. He was a 1988 graduate of Greene County High School. He greatly enjoyed his job logging. He also loved to hunt, make hoghead cheese and meals with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many who will miss him dearly.     

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Wilma and William Helton; maternal grandmother, Lottie Green; paternal grandparents, Jim and Mae Jewel Helton.   

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Darlene Helton; daughter, Wendi (Daniel) Smith; step-children, Brittany (Greg) Brown, Larry (Destiny) Fortenberry, and Tiffany Martin; 10 grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and close friends.    

The Visitation will be Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home Leakesville. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, July 3, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. David Clark and Bro. Russell Brown. Burial will follow in Canaan Land United Pentecostal Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include DeWayne Williams, Austin Williams, Daniel Smith, Greg Brown, Larry Fortenberry, Keaton Smith, Andrew Smith, and Derrick Turner. Honorary Pallbearers include Landon Smith, Darrell Bradley, and Burt Hillman.
