Virginia Louise Jemison Obituary

Virginia Louise Maples Jemison, 80, of Tampa, Florida, formerly of Mobile, Alabama, born on March 21, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama, entered into eternal rest on April 4, 2025. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lutz, loved her family dearly, and enjoyed cooking.


She is survived by children, Michael Jemison (Shelley) of Plant City, Myron Jemison (Dawn) of Lutz, and Mishelle Jemison (Chuck Strawser) of Tampa; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Ann Lavender (Donald); and many other extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by parents, Onie and Virgie Maples; and brother, Lionel Maples.


A funeral service will be held Friday, April 11 at 4:00 P.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 South County Road 39, Plant City, Florida where the family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 19 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilmer Cemetery, 13630 Cemetery Road, Wilmer, Alabama.
