Tyler Merwin

Tyler Merwin, age 57, of Lucedale passed away May 24, 2025. He was a 1986 graduate of Lakewood High School. He began his career with Chevron Refineries in California right out of high school. He transferred to the company’s location in Pascagoula, Mississippi and settled his family in Lucedale. He was a devoted husband, loving father “Abba”, grandfather “Saba”, brother, and dear friend. He was an elder of River of Life Tabernacle who ‘wore a lot of hats’ in addition to being a programmer for Hebraic Roots Network. He had a loving spirit who was always willing to help and serve the community in any way possible.    

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Chava Jean Merwin; father-in-law, Doug Mitchell.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lisa Merwin; children, Steven (Morgan), Tanya, Rose, Noah, Tyler Joseph “TJ”, Isaiah and Elisheva “Elie”; grandson, Jacob Merwin; parents, John and Claudia Merwin; mother-in-law, Sylvia Mitchell; brothers, Phil Merwin, Fred Merwin, and Todd (Tammy) Merwin; brother-in-law, Doug (Teresa) Mitchell; sister-in-law, Jessica Mitchell; nieces and nephews, Zack, Ethan, Brogan, John Tadeusz and Dylan; beloved cat, Bucky; numerous other relatives and friends.       

The Visitation for Tyler Merwin will be Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark McLendon officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers include Steven Merwin, Noah Merwin, Douglas Merritt, Jr., Stephen Hostetler, Josh Morgan, and Jeremiah Morgan. Honorary Pallbearers include Tony Lambert, Arnold Threatt, TJ Merwin and Isaiah Merwin.
