Teddy Rawls Rigney, age 84, passed away January 29, 2021. He proudly served in the United States Air Force right out of high school. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Alabama fan. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and taking family vacations. He was a minister in the Pentecostal faith for over 50 years. He was a member of Crossroads Free Pentecostal Church. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and brother. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bunyan and Lou Betty Rigney; brothers, Bunyan Aaron and Lon Rigney; sisters, Lou McDonald, Betty Kelly, Essie Hulett and Eula Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Nelda Roberts Rigney; sons, Roger (Barbara) Rigney, Randy (Rachel) Rigney, Benjy (Tammie) Rigney, and Todd (Melissa) Rigney; step-daughters, Hope (David) Backstrom, Kim (Kenneth) Bertagnolli and Jeri (Danny) Moorman; sister, Dorcas Howard; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for Teddy Rigney will be Monday, February 1, 2021 at Crossroads Free Pentecostal Church from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The Funeral Service will follow beginning at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Rev. Warren Slay, Rev. Donnie Havard and Rev. Eugene Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow in Crossroads Free Pentecostal Church cemetery.
