Susan Kelly Pope

Susan Kelly Pope, age 64, of Lucedale, MS, passed away June 9, 2024. She was born in Mobile, Alabama to Chester R. Pope, Sr. and Jean Rouse Pope of Lucedale. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church for most of her life, but in recent years joined fellowship with Midway Baptist Church in Howell Community.

Kelly lived her life always loving and helping others, she was a CNA (Nursing Assistant), worked with Hospice for many years, and worked with Special Olympics. She enjoyed working and serving her church and the community. She will be remembered for her fun loving, outgoing personality.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert L. “Tut” Rouse and LaVonne Sumrall Rouse; paternal grandparents, Chester H. “Check” Pope and Emogene Allman Pope.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Hanna (Branden) Rogers, Lindsay Moreno, and Betsey Jackson; son, Rob Blankinchip; grandchildren, Jacob Rogers, Justin (Hope) Rogers, Laurie Kate Rogers, Cameron Blankinchip, Lucy Jackson, Lydia Moreno, Taylor Rogers, and Tatum Moreno; one great grandchild, Reese Kelly Rogers; parents, Chester R. Pope, Sr. and Jean Rouse Pope; sister, Lisa (Thomas) Pope O’Neal; brothers, Rich (Christy) Pope, and Andy (Dana) Pope; numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

The Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Moments Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Brother Branden Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include, Dennis Miller, Hunter Pope, Jacob Rogers, Justin Rogers, Taylor Pope, and Trace Pope.
