Steven Sherwood Davis

Steven Sherwood Davis, age 74, was born June 20, 1951, in Dexter, Missouri. He passed away on July 25, 2025.

Steve was drafted into the US Army in 1971. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and was a Master Aviator. He served the Army as an Instructor Pilot until his military retirement. He was devoted to serving his country and earned numerous awards for his bravery and courage. In the years following his military service, he piloted EMS AirEvac flights, and worked in technology. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Steven is preceded in death by his parents, Betty Dolphy, and Russell Davis, and a sister, Vicky (Dick) West of Raleigh, NC.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Miller Davis, his son, John Davis of Germany, and daughter, Rachel Taylor of Mobile, AL, 4 grandchildren, Lloyd, Pearl, Everett, and Eliza Taylor, 2 brothers, Terry (Tracy) Fritts of Broken Arrow, OK, and Michael Davis, of Gray Ridge, MO.

A committal service will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery, with full military honors rendered by the Department of Defense, on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
