Shirley McCratic Pierce

Shirley McCratic Pierce, age 74, passed away September 18, 2024. She served as Minister at Hilltop Assembly of God and was Director of the church’s Christian Academy for many years before returning to her home church, First Assembly of God of Leakesville. She was a talented musician who enjoyed singing and could play beautiful music on the piano and guitar. She was also a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service in Leakesville. A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend, her loving spirit will be greatly missed.        

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Vernon and Nellie Loriene Lacy McCratic; sister, Loriene Lacy Hunt.   

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Ben Pierce; children, Paul Edward Pierce, and Joanna Leigh (Bo) Curry; grandchildren, Aiden Cole Moody, Stephen George Richardson, and Adrianna Faith Stokes; great grandchildren, Camden and Kodah Baxter; siblings, Wanda Ruth Rowlett, and Clarence Virgil Lee (Mimi) McCratic; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

The Visitation will be Monday, September 23, 2024 at First Assembly of God of Leakesville from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, September 24, 2024 in the church sanctuary beginning at 11:00 AM with Bro. Bruce Walley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
