Scott Swart

Scott T. Swart, age 61, passed away August 13, 2023. He proudly served in the United States Marines and worked in HMX1 during Ronald Reagan’s time in office. A native of Washington, Pennsylvania, he worked for Ace Sporting goods in sales and service. He also served the community as he worked at the City Mission. He was currently employed with South Mississippi Correctional Institute in Leakesville. He was a devoted husband, father, Papa Scoot, brother and friend. However, his most important title was “Christian”. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.   

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Jackson Swart and Carol Jean Polan Swart.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Wendy Swart; children, Megan (Chris) George, Nichole (Josh) Renner and Stan (Lynnsay Lawton) Dashnaw; siblings, Jimalea Haines, Tommy Ray (Debra) Haines and Keith Alan (Sherri) Swart; grandchildren, David George, Rosealeigh George, Amelia George, Bethanie Dashnaw, Haily Dashnaw and Kayce Edwards; numerous other relatives and friends.               

The Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date.
