Master Sergeant Samuel Dayton Kline, age 50, passed away February 1, 2025. He was a 1993 graduate of George County High School. He proudly served over 20 years dedicated to the United States Marine Corps. He served 13 deployments, 9-combats and recently served with the 1st Recon, and from the year 2011 until retirement in 2013 he served in Seal Team 6, putting him in a select group of Marines to ever become a Navy Seal. “I go so you don’t have to. I go so you can go to a Braves game or play for your team without fear of an incoming bomb or rocket heading towards you. I love this country, and I go because I want America to always be free.”
After retiring from the military, he continued service through work at the Sheriff’s Department and pursuing a degree in criminal justice at the University of South Alabama.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Donna Kline, maternal grandparents, JK and Ruth Box; paternal grandparents, Gordon and Lula Kline.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Hunter Kline; father, Sam Kline; brother, Tommy (Frances) Kline; nephews, Jordan Kline, and Braden (Shelby) Kline; great nephew, Cason Kline; life-long friends and special cousins, Alison Dunn, and Connie Hill; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Visitation will be Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Stephen Crigler and Bro. Steve Housley officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery with military honors.
