SSgt Ryan A. Privett, age 29, passed away February 9, 2026. He was a 2015 graduate of Oak Grove High School. Ryan then proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force and continued his education, receiving his Associate’s Degree in 2024. He spent time stationed in Japan, Turkey, England and his last duty assignment was Eglin Air Force base in Florida. He has received several decorations including the Joint Service Commendation medal and the Air Force Achievement medal with three Oak Leaf clusters. He was a devoted husband, beloved son, caring brother, fun uncle, wonderful dog dad, a fierce defender and a gentle soul.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Shannon Privett; grandmother, Nona Privett; grandfather, Gordon Hillman.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Marieskay Teruya La Rosa; beloved puppy, Chocolate; father, Ronald (Lynn) Privett; sisters, Shauna McLendon and Morgan Privett (Chris) Gargis; nieces, Kesleigh McLendon, Bryleigh Gargis; nephew, Parker Ray Gargis; grandmother, Juanita Hillman; grandfather, Billy Privett, Sr.; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation will be Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Washington Missionary Baptist church. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Mickey McLendon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors.
