Ruth Beech Grimes

Ruth Beech Grimes, lifelong resident of Leakesville, Mississippi passed away February 17, 2025 at the age of 91. She spent a lot of her time decorating cakes and sewing. She worked as a talented seamstress most of her life and proudly gained her CNA in her later years. She also served the community through her commitment to the Mt. Pisgah Volunteer Fire Department, Home Makers Club, and the Bunco Group. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah United Pentecostal Church, loving mother and Granny.   

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Grimes; children, Harvey Edward Grimes, Horace Emanuel Grimes, Donny Lee Grimes, and Ruth Anita Cox; parents, Horace Rayfield Beech and Martha Jane Alford Beech; siblings, William Beech, Lamar Beech, Lavon Beech, Wesley Beech, Karl Allen Beech, Liza Beech Gray, Gladys Beech Cottingham, and Annette Beech Freitas.; son-in-law, Edward Lamar Fountain; great granddaughter, Charlotte Scarbrough.   

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Johnny Lee (Flora) Grimes and Amy Grimes (Frank James) Fountain; sister-in-law, Margaret Botter Beech; daughter-in-law, Deborah Grimes; son-in-law, Danny Cox; 19 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; numerous other relatives, friends and a community who adored her.     

The Visitation for Ruth Grimes will be Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Mt. Pisgah United Pentecostal Church. The Funeral Service will be Friday, February 21, 2025 beginning at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Karl Causey and Rev. David Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah United Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
