Russell Green

Russell Alton Green, age 78, passed away May 5, 2020. Russell was a 1960 graduate of Leakesville High School. Some of his proudest sports achievements were 1959 football All-State Honorable Mention as Halfback, 1959 All-Desoto Conference Halfback, 1959 and 1960 100 Yard Dash winner. He continued his athletic career at Jones Jr. College where he graduated with his Associates of Arts Degree. He was a retired farmer/businessman. He was an avid lover of Christ, History, RC Cola and Moon pies. He loved telling football stories and reminiscing about the ‘Good ole days.’

He is preceded in death by his loving parents and grandparents, Dewitte and Dorothy Turner Green, Charles and Hattie Neel Turner, Rufus and Lula Lewis Green.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Terril (Donna) Green and Lee Green; grandchildren, Tara (Dwight) Tillman, Magan Green, Tonie (Matt) Roberts, Chase Green, R.T. (Hope) Green and Tyler Green; six great grandchildren; brother, Lamar (Myrna) Green; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   

The Family will hold a Graveside Service for Mr. Russell Green Saturday, May 16, 2020 beginning at 11:00 AM at Shiloh Cemetery in Deer Park, Alabama.
