Prentiss Earl Brewer (56) was born the eldest of six to Earl and Elaine Brewer on April 17, 1968. He spent a lot of his early years always at the hip of his grandfather, Buster Brewer. Those early years spent with his grandfather shaped his life greatly, and if you were ever around him very long, he would tell you stories about times and tasks that he accomplished with his ‘Paw Paw’ Brewer, who gave him his very first nickname “Sonny-Boy”. After completing school and while in the Army, he met the love of his life Tammy Rose, and together they happily shared 35 years of marriage, filled with children, grandchildren, and great times spent together. By trade he was a mechanic, welder, fitter, supervisor, semi-truck driver, heavy equipment operator, carpenter and farmer. He was a walking paradox to the statement 'Jack of all trades, Master of none’, because he could do it all and he could do it well. One thing that was never a job for him was accepting Christ into his heart, and he was proud of the relationship that he had with God. Over the course of all those years, he gained many new nicknames, but his most favorite was given to him by his own grandchildren: Paw Paw Prentiss. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and over the years they had so many projects together that he proudly displayed either in his house or yard for everyone to see. After 56 short years and surrounded by his loving family, Prentiss went to his forever home in Heaven on July 27, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; father, Earl Hadley “Red” Brewer; brothers Denis Dewayne Brewer and Earl H. “Scooter” Brewer; nephew, Jourdan Cooper; and cousin Lamar Bradley.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Tammy Thornton Brewer; children, Matthew (Amy) Brewer, Jesse (Jamie) Holloman, and Jackson Woods; grandchildren, Raylan, Jordanna, Finn, Ava and Cohen; mother, Elaine Brewer; siblings, Sylvia (Bo) Butler, Brenda Eubanks and Benjamin “Pnut” Brewer; cousin, Troy Bradley; life-long friend, Alex Hamblin; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
