Phyllis Elaine Parker, age 74, went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2021. She was a 1965 graduate from East Central High School in Hurley, Mississippi. Elaine attended Caswell Springs United Methodist Church and Wade Baptist Church. She loved both congregations and enjoyed time spent at both locations with family and friends. She lived for her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She truly loved to cook and tend to their needs. She would regularly call just to check in with family. Elaine influenced many other young lives as well. She held summer and after-school care for many in the community. She taught values they would carry with them into adulthood. Elaine was a devoted wife, loving mother, Nana and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Winfred Darnell Goff, Sybil Marguerite Nichols Goff Wendt and Hilbert Adam Wendt; step-parents, Aunt Mattie Frances Adkison and Reuben Vinson Adkison; grandparents, Tollie E. Goff, Lou Ann Goff, Tressie Myrick Garrison and Robert Wilson Nichols; sister-in-law, Nancy Goff; son-in-law, Deveaux Cunningham; special niece, Monica Lynn Harris.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 56 years, Jerry Wendell Parker; children, Wendy Michelle (Wayne) Rawls, Jill Lynette (Lionel) Bourgeios and Jere Shane (Shelli) Parker; grandchildren, Ryane (Adriane) Rawls, Timothy (Allie) Rawls, Rusty (Kristy) Rawls, Krista (Zach) Locke, Tylor (Jessica) Parker, Cody (Ashton) Parker, Aaron (Leah) Clark, Tollie Parker and Ali Parker; great grandchildren, Macee, Rylan, Mylee, Madelyn, Jack, Nicholas, Emma, Eli, Natalynn, Nora, Waylon and Remi; siblings, Winfred D. “Buddy” Goff, Donnie Riley and Rusty (Daisy) Riley, Lonnie (Irene) Adkison, Eual (Eloise) Adkison and Terry (Beverly) Adkison; numerous other relatives and friends, including Tre’ Cumbest, whom she loved like a son and Sali Jones Westmoreland, whom she loved like a daughter.
The Visitation for Elaine Parker will be Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Caswell Springs United Methodist Church. The Funeral Service will follow beginning at 4:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Ricky Colvin, Bro. William H. Goff and Bro. Kevin Trantham officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery in Wade, Mississippi. Pallbearers include her grandsons, Ryane, Timothy, Rusty, Cody, Aaron, Tylor, Tollie and Rylan.
