Payton Nelson

Payton James Nelson, age 16, passed away November 15, 2023. He was a Junior at Alabama Virtual Academy/Mary G. Montgomery. He was also working at JBT Power as a Deisel Mechanic Helper. He loved everything about the great outdoors and loved playing XBox. He lived his life to the fullest. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle P. and dear friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.                          

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Carey and Maggie Nelson; siblings, Emily Grace Nelson, Gage Nelson, Cade Nelson and Josie Nelson; niece and nephew, Kamdyn and Maylee Kate Nelson; maternal grandmother, Janet Brannan; paternal grandparents, David and Theresa Nelson; aunts and uncles, Adam Nelson, Toby (Hillary) Nelson and Dustin (Brooke) Nelson; cousins, Garrett Nelson, Elenorah and Anna Nelson; best friend, Gavin Mason; great uncle, Ray Carr; numerous other relatives and friends.             

The Visitation will be Monday, November 20, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Georgetown Assembly of God. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Rev. Scott Crooms and Davida Varner officiating. Burial will follow in Wilmer Cemetery. Pallbearers include Carey Nelson, Adam Nelson, Toby Nelson, Dustin Nelson, Garrett Nelson and Gavin Mason. Honorary pallbearers include Gage and Cade Nelson.
