Paul Gabriel Obituary

Paul Robert Gabriel, 60, passed away at the Wesley Medical Center on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. He attended the University of Wisconsin and then received his Master’s Degree from the University of Dayton. Mr. Gabriel became an electrical engineer and worked for the United States Department of Defense. He was also an Avionics Engineer and helped to develop the F-22 and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter airplanes. In 2006, he was awarded the Employees with Disabilities award by President George W. Bush. Mr. Gabriel had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Dienglewicz.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 31 years, Vicki Avera Gabriel; daughter, Kellie Konakkuran (Alp); granddaughter, Courtney Wilburn (Felicity); great-grandson, Lincoln Wilburn; parents, Robert and Sally Gabriel; sisters, Dianne Lange (Richard) and June Shoemaker (Wayne); brother, Stephen Gabriel (Jackie); sister-in-law, Nicki King (Steve); mother-in-law, Nancy Avera; brother-in-law, Roy Garcia (Teri); and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

There will be a graveside service for Mr. Gabriel on Saturday, November 21, 2020 beginning at 11:00 am at Avera cemetery, State Line, Mississippi.
