Patricia Sue Young Hill Fairley, age 85, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 2, 2024. She worshiped at Shipman Methodist and Pleasant Hill Methodist. She greatly enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and riding horses. She was a talented person who enjoyed the arts, painting and sewing, and also played the piano beautifully. She was an elementary school teacher in the George County School District for over 20 years and a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, loving sister and friend who will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years and father to her children, H.P. “Pat” Hill; husband of 32 years, Ralph B. Fairley; parents, George and Laura Sue Young; brother, Max Young.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Herschel (Alesia) Hill; daughter, Peggy Hill (Greg) Logan; step-sons, Gary Fairley, and Robbie (Pam) Fairley; step-daughter, Frances (John) Papania, Eunice (Jeremie) Clark; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; brother, George Thomas (Betsy) Young; numerous other relatives and dear friends.
The Visitation will be Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Moments Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, November 6, 2024 in the funeral home chapel beginning at 11:00 AM with Bro. Brian Scott and Bro. Gilbert White officiating. Burial will follow in C.F. Ward Cemetery. Pallbearers include Braden Smith, Brandon Presnall, Trent Papania, Jacob Papania, Dustin Cochran, Josh Dudley, Daniel Morgan, and Tyler Carr.
