Obituary

Murdick Rex Hillman, age 84, passed away July 27, 2022. He was a 1956 graduate of Leakesville High School. He enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting and fishing. He never met a stranger and loved conversation. He was a life-long member of Sweetwater Missionary Baptist church where he served as a Deacon. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and dear friend.        

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jewel and Batson Hillman; brother, S.L. Hillman; sister, Jamie Allums; grandsons, Justin Clay Walley and Ryan Mathis.      

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara Hillman; children, Robin and Randy Hall and Robey and Becky Hillman; grandchildren, Shana Mathis, Tiffany and Kurtis Gatlin, Shaw and Bridgette Hillman, Ed and Roslyn Karr and Lucas and Johnna Karr; six great grandchildren; sister, Docia and Larry Thompson; numerous other relatives and friends.           

The Visitation for Murdick Rex Hillman will be Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Sweetwater Missionary Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will be Sunday, July 31, 2022 in the church sanctuary beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. Charlie McNeil officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include Carl Evans, Shaw Hillman, Kurtis Gatlin, Weldon Rogers, Randy Hall, Audie McLendon, Denton Clark and Wendell Helton.
