Elder Morgan Lee Farmer, age 74, passed away October 23, 2020. He worked for many years as a Shipfitter. He also served as a Pastor for over 40 years and currently pastored at Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Leaf, Mississippi. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, loving father and granddaddy. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” and Virgie Lee Farmer; son, John David Farmer and daughter, Virgie Rene’ Farmer.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Ann McLeod Farmer; children Wendy (Lamar) Pearce, Morgan (Rebekah) Farmer, Donna (Joey) Neumann, Michael (Naomi) Farmer, Stephen (Tina) Farmer, Danny (Ashley) Farmer, Joel Farmer, Elizabeth Boone, Ronnie (Evelyn) Farmer, Deborah Colson and Charlene (Brent) Miller; 54 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; brother, Billy (Muriel) Farmer; sisters, Glenna Pearson and Beth (Bob) Lee; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for Elder Morgan Farmer will be Monday, October 26, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 in the funeral home chapel with Elder Joe Lott, Elder Adam Cefalu and Elder Everett Broome officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Sweetwater Missionary Baptist Church cemetery in Greene County. Pallbearers include Morgan Farmer, Mike Farmer, Steve Farmer, Danny Farmer, Joel Farmer and Ronnie Farmer.
