Michael Shane Bullock Obituary

Michael Shane Bullock, age 51, passed away on April 20, 2026, in Globe, Arizona, due to long-term complications related to his heart transplant. He was a 1993 graduate of East Central High School, where he played football and built many lifelong friendships. He also enjoyed working horses, team roping, and bass fishing, finding great joy in the outdoors and the simple moments of life.

Shane was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle who loved his family deeply. He was a member of Salem Global Methodist Church and lived his life with a giving spirit. He was never a taker and never expected anything in return. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He worked as an iron worker and rigger in the oil and gas industry, where he was widely known for his strong work ethic and exceptional skill. Shane truly loved to work and could fix, build, or figure out just about anything. His career allowed him to travel all over the world with his wife by his side, from North Alaska to California, Aruba, and many other places. At every job site, he left behind not only excellent work, but also lasting friendships. One of his greatest blessings was having the opportunity to work alongside his son, Garret, creating memories they both cherished.

He had a special love for Boston Terriers and raised them throughout the years, forming deep bonds with each one. His beloved companions—Snapper, Buddy, and Lilly—were more than pets; they were like loyal service dogs, always by his side and a constant source of comfort, companionship, and joy.

In 2018, Shane received a heart transplant. Though he faced several years of health challenges afterward, he never complained. Instead, he continued to work, remained strong in spirit, and even formed lasting personal relationships with his medical team. During this time, he also courageously battled throat cancer, facing it with strength and determination. He was working in Arizona up until his final days, a true testament to his dedication and determination. It has often been said that he was such a hard worker, he wore out two hearts.

Shane will be deeply, deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Erwin “Peanut” Bullock; paternal grandparents, Edward and Francis “Love” Hudson Bullock; maternal grandfather, William “Bill” Harris; cousin, Raelyn Harris.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Julia Bullock; son, William Garret Bullock; step children, Lee Daniel, Joseph Turnbaugh, Elliott (Sara) Daniel, and Lauren Daniel; step grandchild, Hiram Elliott Daniel; mother, Lynn Harris Bullock; siblings, Ginifer (Jeff) Goellner, and Mance (Toni) Bullock; nephews and niece, Cole Contestabile, Tyler Sperry, and Alexus Bullock; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Harris; numerous other relatives and friends.
