Michael Dewitt Buckhalter

Michael Dewitt Buckhalter, age 68, passed away September 20, 2024. He spent 20+ years welding at Ingalls. He was a loving father and grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family and watching Saints football. He will be greatly missed by all who were honored to know him.        

He is preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Beard; father, Robert Truman Buckhalter; step-father, Ray Vernon Beard; brother, Truman Edward Buckhalter.   

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, William Christopher (Cheri) Buckhalter, Jason Edward (Andrea) Buckhalter, Kelly Michelle (Timothy) Loper, Maegen Marie Lanier; bonus children, Kimberly Rochelle (Charles) Naze and Timothy Allen (Breona) Clark; grandchildren, Charity Hope (Bobby) Dickerson, Caden Brant Mosley, Jaslyn Faith Mosley, Ethan Zane Loper, Landon Michael Lanier, Ava Makynli Lanier, Ansleigh Marie Lanier, Clara Jane Breeden, and one more on the way; bonus grandchildren, Jesse Winston Trent Whigham, Justice Athena Naze, Claire McKenzie Clark, Trinity Alasia Clark, Amelia Marie Clark, Hazel Grace Clark; great grandchild, Harper Delaney Dickerson; brother, David Wayne Buckhalter; mother of his children, Sandra Carmen Clark; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
