Mervin Lee Holland, 69, passed away on August 3, 2026.

Mervin was a man who truly enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He had a deep passion for training horses and horse racing, spending countless hours doing what he loved. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, finding joy in the outdoors. He attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Mervin will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend. He never met a stranger, and his outgoing personality and warm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the love he shared will be cherished forever.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Leroy Holland; sister, Gloria Prine Wade.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Kevin Jaret (Kayla) Harrell, Brandon Williams, Terrill Wayne Harrell, and Mervin Lee Harrell; grandchildren, Terrill Harrell II, Nataleigh Harrell, and Nox Leon Harrell; siblings, Annie Baxter, Cindy (Travis) Hicks, Bobby Ray Holland and Robert (Sheila) Holland; numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The Visitation will be Monday, August 10, 2026 at Moments Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 11, 2026 beginning at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Jody Prine officiating. Burial will follow in Weldy Cemetery in Deer Park, Alabama. Pallbearers include Travis Hicks III, Bryant Hicks, Tayten Holland, Dalton Cowart, Chad Rester II, Terrill Harrell II. Honorary Pallbearers include Justin Rouse and Scotty Rester.
