Matt Spillers Obituary

Mr. Matt Toland Spillers, age 80, passed away April 28, 2020. He was born in Barnesville, Lamar County, Georgia to the late Fred and Nettie Toland Spillers. He had been a Gulf Coast resident over 45 years. Matt was an avid outdoorsman. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving his country in the US Navy and was retired from Ingall’s Shipbuilding, where he worked as an outside machinist.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Kevin W. Sorensen.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lucy Tanner Spillers; three children, Anthony & Hannah Key, Moselle, MS, Brenda & Mike Sorensen, and Rebecca & Gene Warren, all of Barnesville, GA; a sister, Freddie Wright; and brother-in-law, Billy Wright; 11 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.

The Family will hold services for Mr. Matt Spillers at a later date.
