Matilda Lafaye Nelson

Matilda Lafaye “Faye” Davis Nelson, age 84, passed away peacefully with all her children by her side on April 14, 2025. She loved church, holiday cooking, and baking for her family. She worked hard to keep the cleanest house. Her greatest joy of all was her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Ray Davis and Ruby Seless Davis; sisters, Margarette Zdrazil, Mary Anderson, and Nettie Yates; brother, Elmer Davis.  

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, David (Shelli) Harris, Sr., Roy (Lisa) Harris, Cathy (Larry) Bradley, Charlene (Billy) Shields, George Nelson, Jr., Tina Nelson, Seth Nelson; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Zenia, Nancy, Ruby, and Clinton, Jr.; numerous other relatives and friends. 

The Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 17, 2025 at New Antioch Full Gospel Church beginning at 11:00 AM with Bro. Heath Havard officiating. Burial will follow in New Antioch Full Gospel church cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers include James Davis, William Davis, Bernice Davis, Jake Howell, Josh Davis and Henry Cochran.
