Mary Louise Riser Fryfogle, “Lala”, of Ocean Springs, MS and former resident of Lucedale, MS for many years, passed away on August 18, 2023 at the age of 90 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Ellisville, MS on April 21, 1933; the oldest child of Katherine and Fred Riser. She was of the Baptist Faith and attended Cedar Lake Assembly Church. She was married at 16 and had much to learn. She was a homemaker and learned to can fruits and vegetables, sew everything from costumes to curtains. She learned to crochet, and liked to bake from scratch, cakes and pies. One of her favorite outdoor things was to go fishing, take children to Whatley and Brushy Creek swimming and picnics.
She worked for LaFont Inn in Pascagoula for about 20 years and made many wonderful friends there. She loved to be with her Grandchildren whenever she could. She cooked and cleaned and carried them here and there, which brought her the most joy she ever had. By the time the Great Grandchildren came she had a few stories to tell which shared her sense of humor for sure. She enjoyed reading, watching sunsets and old Westerns, especially John Wayne, and sitting outside watching birds.
If you knew her, you already know most of this. She taught us a lot of things to help us face the ups and downs in life. May we remember the love she shared and pay it forward.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Fred and Katherine Riser; her sister, Patsy Dunham; son, Raymon Fryfogle; grandson, Kenneth Ross, Jr.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane F. Ross and Linda F. Morgan; one son, Tony Fryfogle (Bhrenda), nine Grandchildren; Diane Steward, Anthoney Fryfogle (Amanda), Audrey Miller (Steve),Christy Barry (Jon), Stanley Fryfogle (Jessica), Lindsey Morgan(Edmand), Heather Strickland(Mike) Haley Parks (Wesley), Kathy Fryfogle; 23 Great Grandchildren; Cline, Harrison, Landon, Savanah, Grace, Klay, Cohen, Austin, Maleah, Elijah, Ava, Tabitha, Marley, Asher, Daniel, Aaron, Jonathan, Baleigh, Kylin, Atlee, Evan, Kyndal, and Easton.
