Martha C. Brown

Martha C. Brown, born April 2, 1938 passed November 17, 2021. Born in Hendersonville, North Carolina, moved to Homestead, Florida where she later met her husband, Billy Brown. She then moved to Leakesville, Mississippi in 1959, where she was a loving mother, seamstress and homemaker. In the mid 70’s pursued a career as a Registered Nurse, where she worked until she retired as a home-health nurse in the early 2000’s. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah United Pentecostal Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a devout Christian, enjoyed fishing, outdoor activities, traveling and most of all enjoyed her family.          

She is preceded in death by her husband, O. L. “Billy” Brown, Jr; son, Oscar L. Brown, III; daughter, Cheryl Darlene Brown; parents, Alfred Temple Condrey and Lillie Mae Barnwell Condrey; grandsons, Christopher Craig Brown, Billy Warren Brown and Josh Dodge; siblings, Lindey Condrey, Lucy Tolbert, Bernice Evans and Mildred Pfua.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Randy Alfred (Camile) Brown, Scotty Eric (Nancy) Brown, Gary C. (Sandra) Brown and James T. “Timmy” (Mary) Brown; 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Jean (James) Holley; numerous other relatives and friends.

The Visitation for Martha C. Brown will be Friday, November 19, 2021 from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM at Mt. Pisgah United Pentecostal Church. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Karl Causey officiating. Mrs. Brown will be laid to rest by her husband in the church cemetery.
