Marion Raymond Davis, age 77, passed away December 23, 2025. Born December 25, 1947, Raymond was an avid sawyer and wood worker, having made many toys for his grandchildren. He worked for Exxon Mobil in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for 34 years. He began his career with the company at the age of 21 as a first-class welder and ended up working as a heavy equipment operator, specializing in mobile crane operation. He ran a small cattle operation, loved to garden, and was always ready for a new adventure.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Gordon “Gordie” Davis and Julia Sybil Adams Davis; siblings, Barbara Nell Davis, Hazel Janice Davis, Franklin Joe Davis, Florine M. Newburn, Elizabeth "Liz" Simpson
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Evelyn Smith Davis; children, Scottie (Kimberly) Davis and Kenyon R. Davis; grandchildren, Raylyn Davis and Hayden Davis; siblings, Tressie Davidson, Kenneth (Kathia) Davis, Mildred Hodge, Alice (Robert) Adams, Blane (Ann) Davis, Donna Lynn (Kenneth) Davis, Ernestine Musgrove and Delorse Baker Kirkland; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Visitation will be Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.
There will also be a Memorial Service at Amite Baptist Church, 7100 Amite Church Road in Denham Springs, Louisiana, January 10, 2026 beginning at 11:00 AM. Please feel free to come to either service or both to help honor Raymond as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
