Maria Hosford Obituary

Maria Hosford, age 80, passed away on March 30, 2026. Born in Budapest, Hungary, she later made Greene County her home, where she built a life centered on family, creativity, and simple joys.


Maria had a deep love for sewing and crocheting, often sharing her handmade creations with those she loved. She also found peace and fulfillment working in her yard, tending to flowers and enjoying the outdoors. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations.


She will be remembered for her warmth, her talents, and the love she gave so freely.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Josef and Maria Schneider; grandparents, Josef Schneider, Anna Schneider, Lorenz Bender, and Therzia Bender; grandson, Dex McLeod.      


Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Henry L. Hosford; daughter, Martina (D.D.) Bradley; son, Markus (Rebecca) Adolf; brother, Sepp (Anita) Schneider; grandchildren, Dusty (Jennifer) McLeod, Michael (Michaela) Adolf, Ashley Adolf, Emily Adolf, and Nicholas Adolf; great grandchildren, Eden Grace McLeod, Journey Knight, Jenah Knight, Zadie McLeod, and Grayson Gorczynski; sister-in-law, Betty Brannon. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.          


The Visitation will be Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Moments Funeral Home, Leakesville. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Paul Walters and Bro. Richard Dykes officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Markus Adolf, Michael Adolf, Nicholas Adolf, D.D. Bradley, Dusty McLeod, Eric Bradley and Terril Herrell.
