Lurvia (Hinton) Beech

Lurvia Beech, 86 years of age, passed away on April 25, 2023, in Lucedale, Mississippi. She was born on August 23, 1936, in George County and was a lifelong resident of Lucedale. Lurvia was a treasure to all who crossed her path with selfless devotion to her family and friends. She wanted each person to be successful, happy, and to pursue personal dreams. Her wisdom, no-nonsense attitude and commitment to her loved ones leaves a remarkable legacy of a strong, independent woman who was determined to make the best of all circumstances while never asking for anything from anyone. Her children and grandchildren provided a sense of purpose enduring love, and daily blessings, which she valued beyond words. Because she was an avid reader and viewed educational television channels, she could converse with her adult grandchildren on most any subject of interest, including political and the economic matters.

Lurvia is preceded in death by her husband, Odis Beech and son Kenny Beech as well as her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Lurvia is survived by her loving children, Terry (Tonya) Beech and Lana Kay Pierce , both of Lucedale, Mississippi; grandchildren, Destin (Paige) Beech of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Slade (Sarah Hayden) Beech of Atlanta, Georgia, Cruz Beech of Lucedale, Mississippi,  Crystal (Matthew Craft) Beech of Clinton, Mississippi and Derek (Lauren) Pierce of Long Beach, Mississippi; great grandchildren, Madison and Reese; brothers, Teddy Hinton and Joe King;  Anna Faye and Jason (Darcy) Kelley ,who were like family. She also leaves nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who will sadly miss her devotion to her family and friends. 

The Graveside Service will be Sunday, April 30, 2023 beginning at 2:00 PM at Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers include Derek Pierce, Destin Beech, Slade Beech, Cruz Beech, Jason Kelley and Matthew Craft. Honorary Pallbearers include Dan McLeod, Winford Bennett, Jr., Dennis Pierce and Teddy Hinton.
