Lloyd "Buddy" Hovatter Obituary

Lloyd David "Buddy" Hovatter, age 79, of Leakesville, passed away March 31, 2022. He was a 1961 Graduate of Leakesville High School and worked over 30 years as a Pipefitter. He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing and outings with grandkids. He was a faithful member of Canaan United Pentecostal Church. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.        

He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald W. Hovatter; mother, Lottie Green; mother-in-law, JoAnn Quinn; siblings, Jerry E. Hovatter, Greg W. Hovatter, Pete Hovatter, Wilma R. Helton and Judy L. Holder.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy “Doris” Hovatter; children, Jeanette (Phillip) Parnell, Casey (Louis) Kittrell and Peggy Leona (JR) Vance; grandchildren, Steven M. Pierce, Luke D. (Jenn) Pierce, Justus R. (Hannah) Vance, Adam A. Pierce, Dakota L. Kittrell, Kassin L. Kittrell, Lance (Savannah) Kittrell, Brandy L. (Scott) Johnston; step-grandchildren, Tonya Parnell, Alex (Courtney) Parnell, Ashley (Charles) Risen, Chris (Haley) Parnell and Tyler Parnell; great grandchildren, Bryson L. Pierce, Braxton R. Vance and Daisy Bell Vance; step-great grandchildren, Madelyn E. Kittrell, Cameron L. Parnell, Coby Risen, Lanna Parnell, Lexi Parnell, Edward Wiggs, Dalton Johnston and Brantley Johnston; siblings, Jimmy Green, Bonnie Turner, Sue (Leonard) Riles, Peggy McNider, Bleandia Dixon Grimes, Martina (Mark) Jamieson, Tammy Goldman and Becky (Reggie) Bradley; numerous other relatives and friends.     

The Visitation for Lloyd D. Hovatter will be Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM at Canaan Land United Pentecostal Church. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 7, 2022 beginning at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Bro. David Clark and Bro. Irvis Dale Everrett officiating. Burial will follow in McLeod-Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers include Luke Pierce, Adam Pierce, Lance Kittrell, Dakota Kittrell, Skyler Hollifield and Justus Vance. Honorary Pallbearers include Steven Hovatter, David Hovatter, Keith Hovatter, Jamie Hovatter, Ricky Riles, Ricky Harper, Thomas Riles and Brad Byrd.
