Lindol Rudolph "Rudy" Cochran was born March 10, 1941, and departed to his heavenly home on April 20, 2022. He was born and raised in Benndale, MS, George County, and later moved to the coast to work at Ingalls Shipbuilding as a pipe welder. He became the Business Agent of Pipefitters Local 436, and retired at the age of 58. From then on, he lovingly worked for his mother, Syneth Cochran, farming, and loved every minute of it until she passed. He was an outdoorsman, who liked to hunt and fish. He was most happy on the tractor in the field being productive, and was a great provider and supporter of his family. He and his wife, Shirley Cochran, have been married 36 plus years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Syneth and Victor “Dick” Cochran; son, Tracy Cochran; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sharon McDuffie and Leon McDuffie, nephew Steven Thompson, and a couple of his very close friends Gerald Ward, and Dwight “Fuzzy” Davis.
Rudy is survived by his wife, Shirley Cochran; sons Richard (Christy) Cochran, and Bryan (Miranda)West, Jr.; grandchildren Kevin (India) Cochran, Tabitha Cochran, Ariel Cochran, Colton (Haley) Cochran, and Annaliese West who is scheduled to arrive in August; great grandchildren Noah Fryou, Jake Cochran, Eli Cochran, and Amara Cochran; sister Jeannie (Billy) Stork; Sister-in-laws and Brother-in-laws Steve (Rhonda) Thompson, Trisha (Bobby) Thompson, Hershel “Butch” (Judy) Thompson, and Bonnie Williams; nephews/nieces, great nephews/nieces; and many cousins.
Visitation for Lindol Rudolph "Rudy" Cochran will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 4:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ben Bohanick officiating. Burial will follow in Mixon Cemetery in Benndale, MS. Pallbearers include Colton Cochran, Kevin Cochran, Dwayne Dean, Bradley Flynt, Kyle Flynt, and Bryan West Jr.
