Lindol "Jolee" Fortner Cooper

Lindol “Jolee” Fortner Cooper, of Wiggins, MS, passed away on August 23, 2023 at the age of 84 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a faithful member of Benndale Church of God and a proud Prayer Warrior. She was dedicated to her family and greatly enjoyed cooking and serving them all. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.        

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chevis Lamar “C.L.” Cooper; father, Joe Fortner; mother, Gladys (Zeno) Fairley; sister, Verla Mae Hunt.        

 She is survived by her children, Hollis Cooper, Renee (Ed) Goff and Lindol (Matthew) Lansford; grandchildren, Sabrina (Ted) Maples, Jennifer Goff, Lainey McLeod, Cody (Payton) Cooper and Hayley Cooper (Hadan Walker); 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Freda Fairley, Charlie Fillingim and Athern Fairley; numerous other relatives and friends.  

The Visitation for Jolee Cooper will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Benndale Church of God beginning at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.  The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Richard Maples and Bro. Ben Bentsen officiating. Burial will follow in Cooper Cemetery in Wiggins.  Pallbearers include Cody Cooper, Braxton Maples, Ted Maples, Stacey Fillingim, Kenny Hunt and Hadan Walker.  Honorary pallbearer is Jaiden Moran.
