Linda Alldredge Obituary

Linda Welford Alldredge, age 80, passed from this life on Monday, August 25, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born August 3, 1945 in Lucedale, Mississippi to JP and Lillie Mae Welford.

She was a 1963 graduate of Rocky Creek High School. She loved each and every member of that class and always looked forward to their reunions.

She was married to James R. (Ricky) Alldredge for 56 years, until his passing on April 24, 2023.

She was a faithful member of Barton Baptist Church for many years until returning home in her final years to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.  At Antioch she developed a deep love for school there.  She was there every time the doors were open and her work there kept her going.  She had a purpose there and she loved it.

She devoted 46 years to Ingalls Shipbuilding and loved every minute of it, making lifelong friendships there.  Linda was a hard worker, but she truly enjoyed it.

Linda was many things to many people; loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend.  But her most cherished role in life was as a grandmother.  She loved her 3 grandchildren more than anything on earth.  They were her absolute pride and joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents JP and Lillie Mae Welford; husband, James R. Alldredge; brothers, David Welford and Jake Welford.

Those left to cherish her memory include her only child, Michelle (Jerry) Radcliff; granddaughters, Kaitlynn (Joshua) Rice, Lileigh (Ashtyn) Holland; grandson, Elijah Myers; sister, JoAnn McMurphy; brother, George (Bonnie) Welford; niece, Dawn Bradley; nephews, Jason Welford, Matthew Welford and Gino Welford and Charles "Skipper" McMurphy; numerous other relatives and friends.

Her going home service will be held at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, August 29, 2025. The Visitation will be at 10:00 AM with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM with Bro. John Henry officiating.  Burial will follow at Rocky Creek Baptist Cemetery with Bro. Haden Lee officiating the graveside service. Pallbearers include Jason Welford, Joshua Rice, Ashtyn Holland, Jake Bradley, Elliot Bradley and Micah Long.  Honorary pallbearers are Elijah Myers and Jerry Radcliff.
