Laverne Helton

Laverne Helton, age 71, passed away February 12, 2025.He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved keeping up with his grandchildren, and hosting the Helton family Christmas and Fourth of July.

He is preceded in death by his father, L.V. Helton.         

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sherry Jo Helton; children, Brandon (Maggie) Helton, Christopher (Maggie) Helton, and Larissa (Calep) Smith; grandchildren, Dillon Helton, Taylor Helton, Luke Helton, Jolee Helton, Cayson Smith, Canton Smith, Cainen Smith, and Coleton Smith; mother, Mary Edna “Helton” Cooley; siblings, Larry Helton and Debra (Pete) Pierce; numerous other relatives and friends.                 

The Visitation will be Monday, February 17, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home, Leakesville. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. William Amacker and Bro. Wendell Helton officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Christopher Helton, Calep Smith, Brandon Helton, Dillon Helton, Seth Pierce, Dustin Helton, John Helton, and Joey Helton. Honorary pallbearers include, David Helton, Charlie Hunt, Bobby Turner, Myron Griffith, Mark Hicks, and Chuck Hicks.
