Knoxie Eubanks, age 79, of Leakesville, MS , passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025 surrounded by loved ones suddenly, at home.
Pop worked for Ingalls for 42 years and was known for his hard work and dedication to provide for his family. He also served as a Mason.
After retirement, Pop enjoyed spending his Thursdays and Saturdays at The Downtown Hattiesburg and Gautier farmers markets. After 16 years of this, the community became part of his family. Pop was spoiled; not of materialistic things, but with the love and admiration his family and community provided for him. His grandchildren not only consisted of his kin, but also the friends they brought around. Pop shared his love with so many. His grandchildren can be able to say with full confidence that Pop was not only a Grandfather, he was their best friend. He loved to sit on his porch in the mornings, sipping his coffee and watching the sun come up. Everyday, he reminded his granddaughters to “be a sweet girl”. Everyone holds the honor to be able to tell their own stories and share memories about Pop. It brings his family a sense of hope and relief to know that the first angel he saw when he arrived at the gates of heaven is his wife, Sharon, who he waited 6 years to reunite with.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Turner Eubanks; parents, William Everette and Annie Pearlie Edgar Eubanks; siblings Vonadean Guthrie, Mellie Jane Holifield, Willene Eubanks, Sara Beth Dickerson, and Pete Eubanks; daughter-in-law, Tammy Taylor.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Lanie (D.R.) Trotter and Chris Entrekin; grandchildren, Kenzey (Caleb) Stanphill, Paisley Trotter, and Katelyn Entrekin; brother, Don (Janet) Eubanks; cousins Lee Turner and George Turner; special friends, Rachel Honea, Phylis Green, Mike and Laura Lewis, Phil and Susan Turner, and Butch Dueitt; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation will be Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 17, 2025 beginning at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Bro. Larry Havard officiating. Burial will follow in P. K. Eubanks Family Cemetery.
