Kermit Olin Blackston, age 52, passed away on July 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Throughout his illness, Olin faced each day with remarkable strength and determination, never once complaining.

Olin was a devoted family man who treasured his children and every moment spent with those he loved. His faith was an important part of his life, and he loved his church and the community he called home. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.

Olin will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering faith, kind heart, and the love he freely shared with his family, friends, and everyone who knew him. His legacy of courage and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love him.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Blackston.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Megan Williams, Chloe (Paul Abrams) Blackston, Bre’Annah Blackston, Ka’Den (Shevy) Blackston, Tatyana Simmons, and Anilyia Brown; granddaughter, Saharii Abrams; parents, Raymond (Marilyn) Anderson, Jr. and Jeannett Laverne Blackston; siblings, Mesean Blackston, Marjorie (Joesean) Jones, Larry (Sherry) Anderson, Kenya Williams, Shelia Francis, Tyrone Blackston, and Jeffery Blackston; devoted ex-wives, Evelyn Kermue, and Savannah Blackston; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.           

The Visitation will be Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. James Hill, “Panky” officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Pallbearers include Scorpio McInnis, Jarvis McInnis, Ka’Den Blackston, Mesean Blackston, Charlie Blackston, Jr., and Adrian Blackston.
