Katherine "Kathy" (Read) Kirkwood

Katherine Anita “Kathy” Kirkwood, age 56, passed away January 16, 2023. She was a 1985 graduate of George County High School. She worked for Century Bank for 33 years in many different roles and served the community thru Kiwanis, Rotary and Singing River Headstart. She was also a faithful member of Agricola Baptist Church. Kathy was a devoted wife, loving mother, Mimi, daughter, sister and dear friend to many.          

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Greg and Emma Lee Davis; paternal grandparents, Fletcher and Juanita Read.    

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her husband of 36 years, Robert Kirkwood; children, Brandon (Lindsay) Kirkwood, Drew (Lauren) Kirkwood and Jessica (Reid Brown) Kirkwood; grandchildren, Noah Kirkwood, Daniel Kirkwood and Rhett Kirkwood; parents, Jerald E. Read and Joyce Ann Davis Read; siblings, Paul (Tonya) Read and Scott (Karie) Read; numerous other relatives and friends.    

The Visitation for Kathy Kirkwood will be Friday, January 20, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 21, 2023 beginning at 11:00 AM at Agricola Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Mitchell officiating. Mrs. Kathy Kirkwood will be laid to rest in Union Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
