Juanita Welker

Anis Juanita Welker, age 100, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2023. She worked for many years as a cosmetologist and even taught classes in the industry. She was a member of Center Point Church in Wetumpka, Alabama. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.              

She is preceded in death by her husband, Melfred Welker; grandson, Blue Hattaway; parents, John Myrtle and Annie Leah Dorsey Blackmon; brother, Bufford L. Blackmon.     

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Rebecca (Ellis) Foster and Lessie (Bob) Gray; grandchildren, Jennifer (Adam) Daley, Karen (Danny) Bryant, Cindy (Wallace) Rayfield and Robby (Sharon) Gray; six great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.        

The Visitation in Mississippi will be Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Visitation in Alabama will be Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Wyatt Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tom Gaylord officiating. Burial will follow in Opp City Cemetery. Pallbearers include Adam Daley, Zane Herrington, Scott Foster, Danny Bryand, Joshua Bryant and Jeremy Bryant.
