Joyce Virginia Dueitt Obituary
Joyce Virginia Dueitt, age 80, passed away July 29, 2025. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. She was constant in her faith, fierce in her love and full of wisdom and wit. Her love was deep and pure. She was loving, strong, and God fearing, full of grace, but never without a little sass. A true matriarch in her own right. Her home was the place where traditions lived, stories were told, and she made sure everyone felt like they belonged. She was a devoted wife for many years, loving mother, grandmother, sister and caretaker in the community. Her heart of gold and touch of sparkle will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wilson Dueitt; parents, Woodrow W. McCardle and Avil Virginia Tanner McCardle.
Those left to cherish his memory include her children, Cindy L. (the late Tony) Harvison, Jerry Dewayne (Janice) Dueitt, Angela D. (Elmer) Harvison and Greg Wilson Dueitt; ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Eugene McCardle, Betty (Franklin) Smith, Charles Roy (Diane) McCardle, Wanda (Lynn) Tanner, Harvey Lee McCardle, and Linda (Stewart) McLeod; numerous other relatives and friends.
