Joyce Anderson

Joyce Johnson Vete Anderson, age 90, passed away May 27, 2025. She was born December 20, 1934 in a Share Cropper’s Shack in Oloh, MS to Wylie Theodore Johnson (Born Sept. 9, 1901) and Litha Courtney Johnson, (Born April 4, 1900). She received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and became a teacher, she was an active founding member of the New Life Traditional Baptist Church in Semmes, Alabama, where she played the piano and sang every time the doors were open.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Doris Jeanette Johnson, Rueben Johnson (KIA WWI), Wylie Johnson Jr, and Richard Johnson.

 She is survived by her three sons, John David Vete (Niese), Frank Eugene Vete (Deanna), Richard Samuel Vete (Kathy) and raised two step children, Ron Vete (Sandy), and Jan Vete Moore; grandchildren, Holly Nicole Rescott, (Joe), Stephen Daryl Vete (Beka), and Frank Easton Vete, Samantha Joyce Vete, John Cesrae’ Vete (Lauren), Rebecca Danielle Vete, (Tony) and Devin Vete (Antiea), Carey Prine, (Cliff), Jada Vete, Chris Vete (Christa), Ashley Williams (Casey) and Ronnie Hudson; 18 great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.

The Visitation will be Friday, May 30, 2025 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 5:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tony Williams and Bro. Jim Crocker officiating.
