Johnny Aaron Matthews

Johnny Aaron Matthews passed away July 18,2020 at the age of 6. He was a student at Central Elementary School and recently graduated Kindergarten. He loved collecting Hot Wheels cars, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and dancing to the “Hot-Dog” song. He also enjoyed time spent outdoors with his family hunting, gardening and swimming. He was a fun spirit who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.         

Those left to cherish his memory include his Grandpa “Daddy” Johnnie Curtis Slay, Jr. and Nana “Honey” Sarah Johannah Slay; mother, Ashley Nicolle Slay; sisters, Johannah Nicolle, MacKennah Rayne, Phyllis Emily, Karli Addison and Shannon Savannah; aunts and uncles, Stephanie Renee Slay, Thomas Lee Blair, Kristen Sean Blackburn, Spencer Douglas Gregory Blair, Angel Marie Slay and Madeline Johannah Slay; special cousin, William Curtis Middleton; numerous other relatives and friends.     

The Visitation for Johnny Matthews will be Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 30, 2020 beginning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Bruce McKenzie and Bro. Paul Slay officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Thomas Lee Blair, II, Spencer Douglas Gregory Blair, Raymond Lewis Crumpton, III and La’Reginald Anderson.
