John “Johnny” Duval Woodard, Jr., age 68, passed away on April 24, 2026. He spent many years as a dedicated truck driver, traveling long hauls across the country and taking pride in his hard work on the open road. At times, his wife was able to travel alongside him, creating special memories together on the road. When he was not trucking, he worked as an asphalt foreman, known for his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. In his quieter moments, he enjoyed relaxing at home and watching television, finding comfort in life’s simple pleasures and the time spent with those he loved most.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, John D. and Rachel W. Woodard.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Connie A. Woodard; daughters, Rachel L. (Boyt) Woodard-Tanner, and Jennifer M. Woodard; son, Charles E. (Kristina) Barnes; grandchildren, Danielle (Nathan) Hudson, Clayton (Destini) Christopher, Lizzie (Seth) Clont, Lexi (David) Cole, Lydia Barnes, Emily Barnes, Michael Woodard, Luke Smith, Drake Smith, George Tanner, and Karsyn Tanner, 9 great grandchildren; and numerous other friends and family.
The Visitation will be Friday, May 1, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Woodard Cemetery. Pallbearers include Charles Barnes, Boyt Tanner, Clayton John Christopher, Michael Woodard, Luke Smith, and Drake Smith.
