Joanne Harvison

Joanne Harvison, age 81, passed away peacefully on June 13th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on January 25, 1944, to John and Nancy Miller.  Joanne was a lifelong example of grace, strength, and faith.  A woman of deep faith, Joanne was a proud believer and saved Christian, and her family finds peace knowing she is rejoicing in the arms of the Lord.

Joanne was just a few months shy of celebrating 50 years of dedicated service at the George County Times, where her work and presence touched the lives of many in the community.  She will be deeply missed, but forever remembered for her kindness, loyalty, and unwavering love for those around her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Harvison; son, John Dale Harvison; parents, Nancy and John Miller; sister, Betty Norman; brother, John Miller.

Joanne is survived by her devoted children; daughter, Renee (Larry) Tanner; son, Tony (Yvonne) Harvison. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren; Justin Tanner (Vanessa), Dillion Tanner (Paige), Kayla (Carl), Nicole Tanner, Chelsea, Stephanie, and Paige Harvison (Misty); and her adored great-grandchildren; Baylee, Jaxon, Jace, Brayden, Hallie, Lainey, Easton, and John Dale Harvison.

The Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home.  The Funeral Service/Celebration of Life will begin at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband and son.
