Jill Lynette Parker Bourgeois, age 56, passed away on January 11, 2026, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, following a long and courageous journey with degenerative health challenges. Jill was a devoted daughter, loving wife, cherished mother, treasured sister, and proud grandmother. She was known for her strength, her grinning smile, and infectious laughter, along with her deep love for family and her unshakable spirit. She shared a special bond with her beloved furry companion, Max, who remained faithfully by her side.
Jill was a true lover of the outdoors, a gift lovingly passed down from her father, who instilled in her a lifelong love of nature, fishing, and adventure. She found her greatest peace on the water—especially fishing from her boat on the Pascagoula River, most notably near the Cumbest Bluff area, where many of her most cherished memories were made, from childhood through adulthood. Even as her health declined, Jill often spoke of returning there, sitting on her houseboat, cooking a meal, and casting her line into the river she loved so dearly.
Jill’s greatest passion was cooking. Forget fancy clothes or material things—Jill needed only a couple of bags of groceries and a stove. She could whip up a buffet in no time. She found her greatest joy in preparing large, homemade meals meant to be shared and savored by others. Feeding people was her love language, and she was truly the best at it. Family and friends affectionately—and often comically—referred to her as “Chef Jill” or “Jill Deen,” titles she proudly earned with every lovingly prepared dish.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis Elaine Goff Parker; her maternal grandparents, Winfred Goff and Sybil Nichols Goff Wendt; her paternal grandparents, Toby and Blanche Kennedy Parker; and her brother-in-law, Wayne Rawls.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Lionel Bourgeois Jr., who stood faithfully by his princess, caring for her with unwavering love throughout the final ten years of her health journey; her son, Tylor (Jessica) Parker; her step-children, Jessica (Eric) Labatut, Amanda (Brad) Hughes, Janelle (Alex) Morais, and Lionel III (Samantha) Bourgeois; her grandchildren, Natalynn, Nora, Neece, Brad, Breanna, Kaelyn, Delio, and Alexa; her father, Jerry “Dobbin” Parker; her siblings, Wendy Rawls and Shane (Shelli) Parker; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Special thanks are extended to Singing River Hospital of Pascagoula, MIississippi, Dr. Logan, and the many nurses and staff who provided compassionate care to Jill in her final days. Heartfelt gratitude is also extended to the home health nurses and staff who stood faithfully by her side throughout her health journey.
