Jerry "Woody" Randall Woodward, age 90, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026. Woody proudly served his country in the United States Army, spending time stationed in Korea. Throughout his life, he worked as a store owner, seismic engineer, and truck driver. A resident of the Vestry community since 1979, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cheering on his favorite teams, the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. Woody will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love for the outdoors, and the many friendships he made throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife of nearly 25 years, Goldye Lorraine “Rainey” Ferguson Woodward; mother, Ethel Young Sanders; father, Otha L. Woodward; siblings, Arthur L. Woodward, Deen Ladnier, Helen Warren, Merle Mack, Joe Woodward, Gene Woodward, and Burney Woodward; great granddaughters, Maleigha and Lyndsey.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Leisa (Gary) Spann, Luwana (Michael) Hobby, Auby Potter, Tony (Lisa) Potter, and Randy Potter; grandchildren, Nicole (Marty) Capers, Chelsi (Jamie) Cotton, Canaan (Victoria) Spann, Adam Hobby, Clayton (Saige) Hobby, Anna (Matthew) Sweeting, Crystal (Ronnie) Ralston, and Casey Potter; great grandchildren, Raymond, Hayden, Ella, Ellie, Connor, Bree, Aiden, Kaiden, Keaton, Corbett, Colby, Mattie, Jared, Katelyn, and Colton.

The Graveside Service will be Friday, July 31, 2026 beginning at 11:00 AM at Biloxi National Cemetery.
