Jerry Stevenson Rice Sr.

Jerry Stevenson Rice, Sr., age 76, passed away May 2, 2024. He received his Doctorate degree in Ministry from Michigan and served as pastor for over 46 years. He spent time at Oak Grove Baptist Church and Pineview Baptist Church. He also served as Chaplain for the South Mississippi Correctional Facility in Greene County and Director of the Home of Grace for many years. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and dear friend.                     

He is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Inez Rice; son, Jerry S. Rice, Jr.; parents, Moody Rice and Zelda Davis Rice; sister, Linda Hoyle.    

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Teresa Rice; grandson, Anthony (Brooke) Rice; great grandchildren, Analynn Moore and Rosalie Rice; siblings, Sandy (Alan) Buckner, and Gerald (Cheryl) Rice; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.     

The Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist church cemetery.
