Jason Lowery Martin

Jason Lowery Martin, age 59, passed away September 30, 2023. He was a 1983 graduate of George County High school and continued his education at Mississippi State on a football scholarship. He continued on to Pearl River College and played football there where his father was the coach. He spent time working with UPS and later owned and operated the local skating rink, Skate City. He enjoyed serving the city of Lucedale as Alderman since 2012. He could often be found doing what he loved on the golf course. He was a loving father and friend who will be missed.              

He is preceded in death by his parents, Peggy Joyce Martin and William Conrad Martin, Jr; brother, William Conrad “Rusty” Martin, III.     

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Braden Lowery Martin and Logan Conrad Martin; step-daughter, Kelly Nicole Head; wife of 22 years, Gretta Martin; brother, Stevie Martin; numerous other relatives and friends.    

The Visitation will be Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 5, 2023 beginning at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Joseph Ladner officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers include Andy Brantley, Ben Steele, Roger Redd, Terry Lamb, Bruce Thornton, Keith Havard, Stan Gill and Tye Miller. Honorary Pallbearers include Mayor Doug Lee and fellow Alderman Carrie Moulds, Jimmy Redd, Al Jones and Louis Valentine.
