Obituary

Jason Dale Hovatter, age 46, passed away September 6, 2021. He was a 1993 graduate of Greene County High School and furthered his education at Jones County Junior College where he received an Associate Degree. He was employed with Michels Corporation in the Pipeline Division for over ten years. He was a proud member of the Safety Council, the NRA, the Republican Party and a proud Trump supporter. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting and traveling. His greatest joy was time spent with his children and family. He was a family man with strong Christian values.         

He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Eugene Hovatter; grandfather, Gerald Hovatter; grandmother, Lottie Green; grandparents, Floyd and Willie Ruth Dixon.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Jay Dalton Hovatter; daughters, SaVanna Analyn Hovatter and McKinley Danae Hovatter; mother, Sandra Hovatter Bowen; brothers, Jerry Keith (Laura) Hovatter and David Gene (Sara) Hovatter; mother of his children, LaDonna Lynn Hovatter; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.                 

The Visitation will be Monday, September 13, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at First United Pentecostal Church of Leakesville. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, September 14, 2021 beginning at 1:00 PM with Bro. Malcolm Dykes, Bro. Irvis Everette, Bro. Myran Schilling, Bro Jonny Cheek and David Hovatter officiating. Burial will follow in McLeod-Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers include Camron Boone, Mason Prentiss, Weston McLeod, Charlie Bufkin, Jeremy Hovatter, Montana Hovatter, Coty Creech, Marcus McLeod and Reese Green. Honorary Pallbearers include Garret Hicks, Harold Glenn Dixon, Glenn Roy Miller, Jamie Hovatter, Steven Hovatter and Thomas Riles.
