James L. “Sambo” Boothe Jr, age 88, passed away August 16, 2025. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Boothe; father, James Boothe Sr; mother, LaVaughn Boothe; siblings, Martha Green, John Thomas Boothe, and Sandy Woods.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, James “Scooter” (Shelby) Boothe, Stephen (Lauria) Boothe, John (Lacy) Boothe and DJ (Marjorie) Boothe; 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.                     

The Visitation will be Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Moments Funeral Home Leakesville from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Boothe Family Cemetery.
